Spiller eyes play-offs

Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller is hopeful of his side clinching a League 2 play-off spot, after the Gills moved back into the play-off places with a victory against Rotherham on Monday.

Andy Barcham's deflected strike after 12 minutes was enough to claim all three points and move the side back into seventh place. With only two games remaining the tireless midfielder is confident his side can maintain their play-off position. He said: "We need to go out and win both of our remaining games to be sure we reach the play-offs. It's up to us to get the job done now, and we are confident we can do that.

"We had a disappointing result at the weekend and needed to respond with a good performance against Rotherham. We did that and now we are looking forward to the games we have left."

Gillingham's remaining games see them face Macclesfield at home, and League 2 leaders Chesterfield away.
