Gamers anticipate release of L.A. Noire

Fans of video developer Rockstar Games are in for a real treat this month. Later this May, gamers will  see the release of the eagerly anticipated L.A. Noire. With Grand Theft Auto, Max Payne, and Red Dead on the developers CV, the game is set to be a stunner.

L.A. Noire is set in a spectacular re-created Los Angeles of 1946, where players are given an open-ended challenge to solve a series of testing murder mysteries. The players take charge of Cole Phelps, an LAPD officer who rises through the ranks of the department. As the story unfolds they learn he has joined the force to 'right the wrongs' he committed during the Second World War.

Gamers across the country have pre-ordered their copy, and say they "cannot wait" until its release date on 20 May 2011. Shop assistant, Robert Malloy, said: "I have been waiting for this game for years now. I made sure that I went and pre-ordered my copy so I get it as soon as it comes out, I cannot wait."

Gaming blogger, Jamie Feltham, believes the game could be in contention to win game of the year. He said: "Last year Red Dead Redemption was up for game of the year, and I think there is a good chance it is in the running."
